GR Sailing

General Description    

      Our sailing excursion on October 19, 2024, promises to be a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation, and community spirit. We look forward to seeing many familiar faces and welcoming new ones as we set sail in the beautiful southern Ionian Sea. Route and Itinerary

      The excursion will begin in Lefkada, from the GRSAILING base. From there, we will chart a course southward through the Ionian Sea, visiting the area around the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca. This route has been carefully chosen not only for its stunning landscapes but also for the relatively calm waters at this time of year. The mild autumn weather usually provides steady winds, making the sailing both exhilarating and safe.

       Each day will feature a mix of sailing and exploration, with stops at significant ports and bays. Possible highlights include the picturesque port of Fiskardo in Kefalonia, known for its traditional architecture and lively atmosphere, and Vathy in Ithaca, which offers a more serene and historical experience. We will also explore secluded coves and beaches, perfect for swimming and relaxation.

Social Aspect and Community Spirit

     One of the most important elements of our previous sailing excursions has been the opportunity to connect with friends and other sailing enthusiasts. This year, we expect to increase participation. The shared experience of sailing, combined with evening gatherings in picturesque ports, creates a unique sense of camaraderie and unforgettable memories.

     Each evening, after a day of sailing and exploration, we will gather for dinner at local tavernas, where we will enjoy traditional Greek cuisine and share stories from the day's adventures. These social gatherings have always been the highlight of our trips, strengthening the bonds within our community and creating a welcoming environment for new participants.
